Call to Order and Welcome

Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer: Sarah Wesley 

  • Current Balance $31,986.98

    • No outstanding invoices or deposits

    • Check sent to Model UN for grant on 8/26, not yet cleared

  • Financial Audit Completed – QuickBooks coding issue needs to be resolved; Sarah is working on this

  • Extra Square has been ordered and received; currently stored in the cash bag; Christine has a Square as well

  • Money and Square for merch sales being dropped off to Christine today

  • Will provide reports at next meeting (Oct) for Teacher Appreciation Merch Sale and New Student Orientation Merch Sale

  • Debrief - Back to School Breakfast: 

    • Total Spent  $1200 – Cash Donations ($860) = $340

(in 2023, we spent $1400 since we didn’t have the Amazon Wish list last year)

  • Over 150 items in the raffle, enough for each staff member to receive a prize.

  • See summary attached to minutes for more details

  • Amazon Wish List: Specific items requested by teachers on summer survey (~40 teachers requested items)

    • How to market the list and get the teachers the requested items?

      • QR code at open house

      • Provide something for parents to take notes on and have the QR code on paper / can also provide pencils

      • Teachers can pass out flyers in second period to students

  • Booster Night at Football Game (Lake Taylor) - Sep 27 - Nicole Drummond & Cerice White

    • Invite parents and teachers, opportunity to interact 

    • Set up to the left after you walk in

    • Game starts at 7, doors open at 6

    • Also Freshman Night at game– so might get more parents who are driving their kids

    • Tables to sell merch, play games, raffle, face paint, pom poms, selfie station; raffle prize every touchdown etc.

    • 2 flyers made – one for teachers, competition for how many from dept and flyer for parents

    • Budget – propose $300 -> can use some of the left-over budget from teacher appreciation breakfast

Amount of Grant: $670.00

Request:  Subscription to Trace Camera service, which provides rented field camera and playback services for games

Number of students benefited: 50

Julie Walsh researched and found that a subscription is still needed even if the camera is purchased. Equipment can be updated each year.

Suggestion: Kettler is located in VA Beach – possibly contact to ask if they can donate. 

Concern: Quality of the table. Will it last?

  • New Boosters Teacher Representative: Grant Miller – English 9 and 10

    • Will be our new teacher rep on Boosters

  • Student Applications – 5 students have applied

    • Karen Anderson and Ann Bockheim will help Julie with application process

  • Welcome to new members

    • Can always use more volunteers 

    • We do so much not just for sports, but for clubs, art, teachers, etc

  • If a student wants to join a club, how does a freshman join a club?

    • Check listing on website or E-mail Ms Dunn or admin for an updated list of clubs

Important Dates

  • Sep 19th – Open House at 5:30 pm

  • Sep 27th  – Booster Night at Football Game

  • Oct 8th – Bakers Crust Fundraiser

  • Nov 1st – Trivia Night (Student/Parent/Teacher)
