Call to Order and Welcome

Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer: Sarah Wesley 

  • Current Balance $ 35,889.97

    • Outstanding payments in excess of $3000 (Dryer, Calz pizza, Pickleball)

    • Balance will be ~$33,000

  • Finance Audit Team to meet at 6 pm Aug 5th 

  • Need to cut check for Pickleball Club – raised $550 – to be donated to ForKids

  • Pick up Yorgo’s check on Thu

  • Pick up Bald Head Dude check this week

  • New Square needed for selling products 

    • Sarah will order one

Committee Report – Grants – Julie Walsh / Courtney Epps / Nicole Drummond

  • No New Grant requests for review 

  • Grants committee met 

    • A few adjustments made to grant request form

    • Google doc for Boosters - collect info on what clubs the Boosters parents have kids involved in

  • Will have table set up at Teacher Breakfast

    • Informational flyer created for teachers

    • Pass out the flyer at coaches meeting – provide to Tommy

      • Megan will provide to Tommy

  • Update on Dryer – Installed last week!

Committee Report – Teacher Appreciation – Christine Redel / Ann Bockheim/ Steven Traylor / Karen Anderson

  • Planning needs for Back to School Breakfast – Monday August 12th 

    • Volunteers – Anyone available that morning

      • Arrive anytime between 7 and 8; breakfast at 8:30

    • Food – Please sign up

    • Raffle Items – Please sign up; spread the word

  • Help sorting school supplies – Thu 8th or Fri 9th 

    • More info forthcoming when we hear back from Ms Berg

Committee Report – Fundraising – Brian and Ann Marie Wynne / Bob Dwyer / Elise Chard / Jennifer Moody 

  • Merchandise Sales, potential items:

    • T-shirts – white and gray- prototype was displayed

      • Production Cost $5.16 (average)

      • $ 1054.10 total for all shirts

      • Sell for $15

      • Need to list on website (Christine)

    • Stationary – Packs of 10, order 30 sets

    • Earrings

    • Stadium Seats 

      • Flat Cushion -  $8.35 each for 100

      • With back - $16.00 for 100, sell for $25

      • Order a sample to evaluate

  • GUADs night –

    • 10% back to organization

Committee Report – Commodore Care Committee/PTSA – Jack Howell, Summer, Michelle Nottingham

  • PTSA is not allowed to provide financial assistance to individual students for items outside of the school. This is in the bylaws due to 503c organization. 

  • Can set up donation drives

    • Partner with school organizations such as NHS or community groups such as Girl Scouts

  • Hygiene products are being collected by Nicole’s organization

  • Bylaws Update 

    • Ann send out to Boosters to read over 

  • Dues Discussion – PTSA must collect minimum of $60 dues to cover insurance

  • Care Request Form is live on website for a teacher or guidance counsellor to complete

  • How to handle social media, e-mail and website with our united group?

    • Current private FB group – Maury Buzz 2

    • Also have a Maury Boosters public group

    • Suggest Maury Boosters Buzz for new name

    • Can have a public and a private group in one

      • Julie will work with Nicole on how to set this up

    • Boosters also has an Instagram site

Committee Report – Marketing & Communications – Rebecca Danchise / Courtney Challoner / Christine Redel

  • Rebrand/rename Maury Buzz 2 Facebook Private Group – see notes above

  • Unite PTSA/Booster social media and e-mail groups – see notes above

  • Flyers needed for Breakfast and Orientation

  • Sign needed to sell merchandise.

  • Tommy will have a 30 minute meeting with coaches during Welcome Back week.

  • Flyer for Flowers and Grant Request Form – 30 coaches

  • Maury Alumni T-Shirt as a fundraiser – homecoming game, reunions

    • Consider a throwback design, something simple

  • Sep 9 – Open Boosters Meeting at Elation, Board at 6 pm, Social at 7 pm

    • Invite Class of 2028 parents (hand out flyers at New Student Orientation)

    • Merchandise items to sell, also tables with different committees

  • Maury Boosters Night Tailgating Idea – Fri Sep 20

    • Invite teachers and parents

    • Who would like to work on this idea

  • Homecoming Corsage Sale – Oct 19th –

    • Vegas is the theme for homecoming

    • If anyone is interested in heading up the corsage initiative, let Julie know

  • Vacancy – Student and Teacher Liaison – Anyone want to be in charge of collecting applications and communicating with candidates? 

    • Students with graphic design skills would be helpful

    • NHS or Medical Program – looking for volunteer hours

  • Wine Dinner Fundraiser Idea

    • Sponsor company 

    • Sell tickets – would be a big ticket item

    • Possible consider spring
