Call to Order and Welcome

Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer: Sarah Wesley 

  • Current Balance $ 35,096.89 ($32,377.89 after $2719 paid for washer/dryer)

  • Confirm all checks received have been deposited – yes

    • $2500 pledge is outstanding

    • $500 Yorgo’s pledge is outstanding (Courtney Epps to follow up)

  • $2719 due for washer/dryer

  • Year End Review / 2024-2025 Goals

    • Rework Quick Books – only 6 categories, fundraising was auto-assigned to fruit sale; Sarah had to edit every transaction 

  • Finance Audit Team to meet prior to Aug 5th Meeting (Julie Malcolm, Katherine Moore, Courtney Epps & Sarah) Goal: Week of July 29th

Requestor: Maury Model United Nations Club

Amount of Grant: $670.00

Request:  Entry Fee For 8 Students for the William and Mary United Nations Competition.

  • Update on Dryer – Still not delivered, supposed to arrive in June

    • Tommy said it is supposed to be shipped to company next week, installation was included in price

  • Year End Review & 2024-2025 Goals 

    • Each committee person will take a grant; each person has expertise so will filter by expertise as well

    • Also ask Booster members for their expertise

    • Continue outreach to staff

      1. Flyer at teacher breakfast – examples of things to ask for

      2. Not all coaches are faculty – Tommy has a meeting with coaches first week, can hand out the flyers to the coaches

      3. Christine can help create the flyer 

  • Budget for upcoming year

  • Idea – Calendar on website 

  • Idea – Coaches night social for parents

    • Incorporate activities the PTSA had been doing for teacher appreciation

  • Budget for upcoming year?

    • $6000, this includes Teacher of the Year stipend

  • Planning needs for Back to School Breakfast – Monday August 12

    • Have two sets of tables, 4 serving lines 

    • Send first Sign-Up Genius July 26th

    • Add K-cups to Amazon wish list

    • $25 Amazon gift cards

    • Parking Spaces, 2 Boosters spaces previously sold at Auction –provide raffle winners name and license plate to admin

  • Ms Berg needs help organizing new supplies – Wed Aug 7th or Thu 8th 

  • Socials for staff – will need help with organizing and staffing

  • Might need help with stuffing the bags for treats

  • Send Ms Berg a note to add to Welcome Letter to new staff – Amazon Wish List

  • News from Meeting with Ms. Berg Jun 17th, 2024

    • New swipe system for each door with key card for better security

    • 6 security officers have been hired

    • 8 new teachers have been hired, needed 3 more teachers (2 CTE, 1 math)

    • Website updated – lobbied for better communication with parents

      • IT person at school to take over the website

    • Takeaways from New Maury High School Community Meeting June 27th 

      • City council meeting tomorrow 7/16 – voting on first phase of design

      • Currently pool is listed as optional

      • No track

  • Important Dates:

    • Aug 1 - Freshman Transition

    • Aug 5 - August Boosters Meeting

    • Aug 7 or 8 – Help organize school supplies to be distributed at Staff Breakfast

  • Ms Berg would like all teachers to join PTSA this year

    • Teacher Breakfast - ask the teachers to join

  • Discussion about what to charge for PTSA membership

  • Form a "Commodore Care Committee run by PTSA" 

  • Boosters members would all join PTSA

  • PTSA would maintain their own bank account

  • LSU idea - how parents can get involved, 6 colored squares, use this idea for our group

  • "Join the PTSA, get a free Boosters membership"

  • Combine all social media

  • PTSA - keep Member Hub/Givebacks website

  • Tab on website for PTSA

  • Current PTSA Care Committee: Jack Howell, Michelle Nottingham, Summer Brennan, Nicole Robinson 

  • Add PTSA President to the Executive Board - At Large Board Member

  • Requests for Care Committee will be on a different form on the Boosters Website; generic mailbox will be created where the requests will be sent

  • Will need to vet all requests through an admin at school 

  • Nicole Drummond and Nicole Barnes - church and community center will organize community service drive to collect toiletry care items
