Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer: Sarah Wesley 

    • Treasury update: Current Balance $30,671

  • After dryer and Valentines treats – balance is ~$25,000

    • Action item: Update Stripe Dashboard account

Committee Report – Grants – Chairs: Julie Walsh, Aimee Umidi

  • Two new Grant requests for review – detailed grant info attached to agenda

Requestor: MHS Girls Lacrosse Club
Amount of Grant:  $800.00

Request: New nets, field paint and goalie protection gear
Number of students benefited:  40

Requestor: MHS Field Hockey Team 
Amount of Grant:  $2000
Request: Subsidize Field Hockey Summer Camp for 25 FH players

  • Discussion: Not approved. This is not an item our bylaws allow funding.

Requestor: MHS Sailing Club
Amount of Grant:  $408.67
Request: Sailing teaching software, books, magnetic board and teaching tools, other supplies
Number of students benefited:  25

  • Request: Need more photos of funded grants to post on website; picture of new washer/dryer would be great

  • Updates on previous grants:

    • The rat-proof chicken feeder was purchased and shipped directly to Maury. Mr. George has it up and running. 

    • Sarah just got the quote for the new Athletics Department dryer yesterday from Mr. Staples. She is going to contact them to arrange a payment and installation schedule. 

      • Sarah and Julie W are both following up with Tommy

  • Total spent on grants this year $11,691 (not including grants approved at today’s meeting.

Committee Report – Fundraising

  • Senior Signs Update

    • Rebecca Danchise following up with Holly

    • Ordering 100 signs

    • Post on website

    • Buy one / donate one option

    • Seniors will be able to pick up in Ms Wegener’s room

  • Reminder for future: Ask for design files and drop in Google drive folder

  • Week of Giving Committee

    • List of potential business sponsors

      • If anyone has any personal connections let Julie M know and will add to list

  • Corsage Update –Prom is April 26th 

    • Asking to have flowers donated

    • Plan for student pick up on Apr 24th 

    • $15 boutonnieres and $20 for corsages 

    • Post on Maury Buzz soon for awareness

  • Trivia Night for Students and Teachers

    • Consider Fall for this event

Committee Report – Teacher Appreciation – Chair: Monica Lynch

  • Thank you to Monica for making cute Teacher Valentine’s Day treats 

  • Teacher Social 

    • Update – Stella not an option due to cost to reserve space; trying Cogan’s; possibly try Yorgo’s – Bob will discuss with Monica

  • Suggestions 

    • Book exchange for teachers; summer beach reads; go brainless at the beach

      • Used book donations - parents

    • Breakfast the day after graduation – June 4th is the day after graduation

    • May – treats for teachers

  • Teacher Survey – Potential Questions:

1. What is something that you provide and spend your own money on for your class that you wished was already provided?

2. Do you have a special project for your classes that Boosters could help fund? Do you have needs for your clubs or athletic teams? Please explain: 

3. What tangible items or events would make your teaching experience better at Maury? 

4. Do you have any ideas or wish list items that would improve Maury High School? I wish (fill in the blank).

5. Would you be interested in being a teacher liaison with the Maury Booster Association next year? 

Provide examples of what is acceptable to write a grant for and what is not? And could sample grants be provided?
